After a lot of seabird activity on the North Kent Coast yesterday, I got up early and watched the sea from the house from 6.45am to 7.30am. It was overcast and a NE wind. The best birds were a dark phase Arctic Skua, 7 Eurasian Teal, a drake Common Scoter, 7 Mediterranean Gulls and 2 Gannets and a Fulmar all N.
I took a break from work at midday and drove a short distance to Sandwich Bay, where we joined a few local birders to observe a Wryneck which was feeding on the lawn of a local resident. It was amusing to watch it dodge the robotic lawnmower.

A short visit, as I had to get back to work! However in the evening a walk around the patch was rewarded with a Hobby chasing flocks of Sand Martin’s and Swallows.
