A cool brisk NE wind continued with low cloud cover most of the day making for a grey and mostly bird-less walk this morning. The highlight was a rather elusive Spotted Flycatcher on the edge of Walmer Castle Woods.

Late afternoon we stopped at Sandwich Bay Restharrow Scrape where saw 4 Common Snipe, 5 Little Grebes and a juvenile Little Ringed Plover. In the adjacent field we watched a single Egyptian Goose and a Short-eared Owl.

Arriving home at home I found a Blackcap in the front Garden, and on the beach a Northern Wheatear and a Whinchat.
