Influx of Mediterranean Gulls 18th August 2021

A brief seawatch this evening from 7.30-8.00pm. Over 230 Adult, juvenile and 1st Winter Mediterranean Gulls sat along the beach and in ‘rafts’ just off shore.

Overhead a modest passage of 25 noisy Sandwich Terns gradually moved south. Further out towards the Goodwin Sands I noted a light phase Arctic Skua along with 4 Fulmar, 3 Gannet and 5 Kittiwake.
