After yesterday's amazing trip to Spurn to see Britain's second ever Siberian Accentor, I was up and on the hunt for my own local rarity at first light. Despite nearly four hours of walking the patch, nothing major turned up, however there was a great deal of migration happening. Migrants included:
1 Black Redstart
1 Firecrest
3 Stonechat
98 Siskin
148 Goldfinch
18 Redpoll
85 Linnet
32 Skylark
20 Meadow Pipit
1 Blackcap
1 Lesser Whitethroat
15 Chiffchaff
4 Redwing
15 Fieldfare
291 Swallow
40 House Martin
12 Goldcrest
1 Mediterranean Gull
9 Rock Pipit
48 Alba Wagtails
2 Sparrowhawks
1 Whimbrel
120 Brent Goose
It was a great morning and over 55 species were seen. There were some great views of the Rock Pipits at high tide.
