Today was a calm sunny day, with a chilly wind from the North West. Blackcaps were much in evidence with many singing along the parade and in the trees around the fields. Welcome new birds were a Whimbrel that flew north at 1pm and the years first Moorhen in the paddocks. Two stunning adult Mediterranean Gulls flew along the shore line against a deep blue sky late morning. Other birds included a Black-throated Diver and 7 Shelduck moving north and 8 Common Scoter heading south! 7 Swallows flew inland and 70 Linnets flew in off the sea.
In the evening we had a walk around the paddocks and Freedown. It was a beautifully crisp evening and the cliffs of France were amazingly clear. Up to 4 Yellowhammers appeared and two Fox Cubs.
